About TortillaGirl
Name is Becky. Also goes by "whack dance knitter", "rabbit" and "tortilla girl". Recovering corporate lawyer. Designer. Illustrator. Patternmaker. Knitter. Is known to host seaming parties and work picot edge while sipping a kir royal. Tends to dance while wearing hand-knits.
I design and create clothing and accessories full-time, and TortillaGirl is my one-woman show. I run it all by lonesome in my current hometown of Lyon, with lots of help from my husband who often bikes my parcels to the post office for me. I am formally-trained in the field of fashion design and pattern drafting: I studied a double degree in both fashion design/illustration and tailoring/draping at l'Ecole Superieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode in France. My designs are original, handmade exclusively by me, and with every piece I make I strive for impeccable execution (because my perfectionist side makes me).
I officially opened my online shop on April 4, 2007, but I've had websites online since 1998:
www.skinnyrabbit.com
www.prettyposies.com
www.mybluehouse.com
www.whatiscopyright.org
I have a design published in Debbie Stoller's Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook by Debbie Stoller. Look for the "Peppermint Twist" sweater. That's mine, designed in 2002 as shown on my knitting website and first published in print as a pattern in 2003.
I am an Etsy Featured Seller:
